This was a large parcel of land to the side of a detached bungalow. Due to the site’s prominent position, the pre-application process involved lengthy discussions with the planners to ascertain their requirements and gain their support.
Furthermore, the only access to the site was from a grid road and extensive negotiations with the highways department were required. We received a planning consent from Milton Keynes Council for three 5/6 bedroom properties. Here again, the owners’ gain was not subject to capital gains tax (CGT).
